Most of you that know me, understand that though I live in the south, I will always be a city girl, so bugs are not my best friend. Sure, we have bugs in the city, but they aren’t as brave as these southern bells, I mean bugs.
Recently I was riding my bike, minding my own business. As I am making my way down the sidewalk, there were these reptiles that took upon themselves to inhabit my path. They would sit directly in my way, acting like a squirrel who in the middle of the street, observes oncoming cars while they decide which way they will go. Unbeknownst to any of us, putting their lives on the line; waiting till the last minute to make a move.
Anyways back to the story…so I’m riding my bike. Like I said, minding my own business and I see the little buggers staring at me – double daring me to come closer. So, guess what I did, I kept pedaling, triple daring them to stay put.
As I continued down the street, I thought of all that is happening in the world today. There are so many things that we as a country, state, city, neighborhood and homes are facing. Some of these things are directly in our path, others have us going back and forth – like that squirrel trying to decide which way we are to go, what we are to do, as we muster up the courage to keep pedaling!
So many of you, like our ancestors have fought so hard. You have faced unthinkable odds and yet still you rise! Your inner strength and perseverance is evident. You continue to throw your head back and though there is so much pain from your past, your present and only God knows what’s ahead in your future you continue to keep pedaling and keep moving.
You are ordinary person, who chooses to speak to your mountain and tell it to move. An ordinary person who is doing something extra. You are moving TODAY, NOW, RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE and because of your efforts there is hope for our world, our country, our states, cities, neighborhoods, and homes!
