A Tourist Journal

The hotel looked pretty much like the online pictures. We jumped out and hit the streets like a rockstar.

Nonstop my tour guide (my eldest daughter) took me from the Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Big Red Bus Tour, Notre Dame, Versailles, Montmartre & Sacre Coeur walking tour (something to make you go hmmm: to reach the Basilica one must climb 270 steps, from the top of which there is a magnificent panoramic view of Paris. But first 181 steps out of the subway…the steps took my breath away, but I recovered from the breathtaking scenery once we reached the top).

Pause and take a peek at a few pictures of our trip…disclaimer they are not in any order.

The adventure continued, taking off to London via Eurostar train. We hit Kensington and Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abby/Hall, Parliament at 10 Downing Street, Tower and London bridge, Stonehenge, Bath, and Windsor Castle,  Victoria and Albert Museum, Burrough Street Market, Selfridge’s Department store, Princess Diana Memorial Fountain, Tate Modern museum and so much more.

We ate at some of the cutest cafés and restaurants, and I even tried a new dish at the infamous Nando’s.

Wow, my head is spinning just recounting the experience. I share this journal entry of our trip for two reasons: one because it was a dream come true and second while I understand not everyone wants to take this trip, I like to believe that everyone has a trip that they wouldn’t mind taking.

Perhaps that’s you, but it just doesn’t seem feasible anytime soon. Exhale and be encouraged, while we don’t know the when’s, the where’s or the how’s, trust that if it is your heart’s desire, God will surely bring it to past!

Until next time, don’t forget to pause!
