Special Delivery

Every day I wake up wondering what adventures or opportunities shall I encounter…well today’s was no different.

Sometime this morning the doorbell rings. I get up from my desk and walk over and look out the window. As I pull the curtains back, I notice a delivery truck going down the street away from my house. The Ring doorbell recorded that a package had been delivered. I pause and think to myself, ‘Hmmm, I don’t recall ordering anything.’

Downstairs I go, a tad excited as maybe it was something my husband ordered. I open the door and look down, the box wasn’t as big as I thought it would be. I picked it up to check out the label. Of course you know the tracking and all the other stickers they slap on boxes are larger than the address label. I take a second look, the package wasn’t for us nor did I recognize the name or address.

As I ponder what to do, I begin writing down the information from the label. Who do I call first, the delivery carrier (I won’t mention the name of the company, to protect the innocent as we all could have made the same mistake) or the person’s name on the box. I call the company to advise them that the package had been delivered to the wrong address. Unfortunately, because a few digits were missing from the tracking number; they were unable to help me.

PAUSING TO SPOTLIGHT….JENNIFER RASH

The Gift of Encouragement

We all need encouragers in our lives, don’t we? Having just ONE person in your life who will speak encouraging words to you makes all the difference in the world. Have you noticed that there seems to be plenty of people who will readily put you down and a real shortage of people who will lift you up? Has it ever dawned on you to be the one who builds and lifts up?

As wives, we need to realize just how much we contribute to the atmosphere in our homes and marriages. Proverbs 14:1 says, “A wise woman builds her house, but a foolish woman tears hers down with her own hands.” That is a pretty strong Scripture.

Did I hear you say, ‘Just how can a woman tear down her own home, her own marriage, or her own husband?’  She does it with her actions and most often with her words. In The Path to Becoming a Proverbs 31 Wife, I share about how we as wives can build our homes, our marriages, and our men. I talk about one of the ways we can build our men – it is through our words.

Always Sisters ~ Always Friends

A while ago as I sat prepping for an upcoming event. I came across a nugget and thought I’d share an excerpt with you.

Why can’t women get along, it’s because we are afraid to be vulnerable, afraid to be soft, afraid to be hurt, most of all afraid of our power. So we become controlling and aggressive – vicious.  Why can’t women get along, it’s because we’ve been taught to be bad rather to be powerful. (Courtesy of Iyanla’s reflections).

Pausing With God Ministries is a nonprofit corporation organized to inspire and engage congregations and the community at large.  The Lord has given us a platform to encourage and edify women of all ages. We are partnering with the Body of Christ to break the silence and address uncharted territory. The topic of the day is MENOPAUSE.  It is estimated that as many as 6,000 US women reach menopause every day. The gender makeup of a vast majority of churches and religious groups reveals that there is a higher percentage of women than men attending on a weekly basis.

By the year 2020, the number of women who will be older than 55 years of age is estimated to be 46 million. In addition, with the increase in life expectancy, more women will spend up to 40% of their lives in the postmenopausal stage.  With these alarming statistics, it is vital that we bring awareness, especially to the Body of Christ.

Along with the physical challenges we face with menopause, many of our sister-friends are overwhelmed emotionally and mentally. Others are trying to dig out off a spiritual drought.  PWGM is your female version of Aaron or Hur, coming along side of a you, holding up your arms, encouraging you one step at a time (Exodus 17:12).

Our workshops, sermonettes, conferences and shut-ins are presented to encourage, enrich, edify, empower women to love themselves, one another and be all that they were created to be.   For more information, schedule or invite us; email Sheri at PausingWithGod@gmail.com.

HELP ME BREATHE

undefined

You never know why you cross paths with certain people, but as time passes you realize it is for some greater good.

That is how my relationship with Cymone is. None of us had any idea back in the 70’s, well she wasn’t born, but her mom and I met back in the 70’s working for the CETA program (The Comprehensive Employment and Training Act).

Fast forward, a few months ago I reached out to Cymone to see if she was willing to write an article for a new project, Pausing With God Magazine. She gladly accepted.

After the first edition of the magazine was published, working with her felt unfinished, I just knew there was another project we were to work on together. Recently we caught up with one another and all I can say is you want to stay tune, 2021 hold some exciting news.

But in the meantime, pause and check out her entire article, https://pausingwithgod.com/pausing-with-god-magazine-2/
